Quick Start
- Grant Camera, Microphone, and Photos access on first launch.
- The live viewfinder opens immediately. Bottom toolbar shows:
- Smart (sparkles): AI describe.
- Photo (camera): Take a photo.
- Video (video/stop): Start/stop video.
- Audio (waveform/mic): Record audio-only.
- Swipe up the bottom sheet to open the Gallery.
Haptics confirm starts/stops. If you feel a tap, the action took.
Take Photos
Method 1 — Tap Viewfinder
- Tap once on the live viewfinder.
- The photo is captured with auto flash when available.
- It’s saved to your Photos library. A mini gallery can appear for quick review.
Method 2 — Toolbar Button
- Tap the Camera button in the bottom toolbar.
- Haptic feedback confirms the shot.
- Open the gallery to view, favorite, or share.
Notes: Photos use your current lens and exposure. Flash is set to Auto when supported.
Record Video
Method 1 — Press & Hold
- Press and hold on the viewfinder to start recording after a short start cue.
- Release to stop.
- Video is saved to your Photos library automatically.
Method 2 — Toggle Button
- Tap the Video button (shows “video” when idle, “stop” while recording).
- Tap again to stop.
- A compact gallery preview may pop up with the newest video.
Tip: Bluetooth mics are supported. See Mic selection.
Record Audio-only
- Tap the Audio button to start an audio note after the start cue.
- Tap again to stop. The app saves an
.m4a file.
- A system share sheet appears so you can save to Files or share.
Audio uses your chosen input (built-in or Bluetooth). Stereo AAC, 44.1 kHz.
Use AI Vision Smart mode
AI Vision captures a quick photo and streams a description/caption of what it sees.
Describe the Scene
- Tap the Sparkles button.
- The app snaps a frame and sends it to AI.
- Text streams in as it’s generated. Copy or dismiss when done.
Configure AI
- Open AI Settings in the app.
- Set:
- API URL: your AI service endpoint
- API Key: your secret token
- Model: e.g., a vision-capable model
- System Prompt: style or constraints you prefer
- Return and tap Sparkles again to test.
If streaming stalls, check network and API credentials.
Gallery & Sharing
- Swipe up the bottom sheet or tap the gallery prompt after a save.
- Browse recent Photos and Videos.
- Tap an item to view. Use the share button to export or send.
Videos and photos save to the system Photos library. Audio notes offer a share/export sheet on save.
Controls & Pro Tips
Zoom
- Pinch on the viewfinder to zoom. A subtle HUD shows the current level.
- Pause pinching to hide the HUD automatically.
Focus & Exposure
- Tap to meter and focus on a subject.
- Move the camera slightly to re-meter if needed.
Mic Selection
- Open the Mic menu (when visible) to select:
- System Default (automatic)
- Available Bluetooth or external mics
- The app remembers your choice and reapplies it after session changes.
Haptics & Sounds
- Start and stop actions provide a gentle haptic and short cue.
- Video and audio start after the cue to avoid capturing the sound.
Settings
- AI Settings: API URL, Key, Model, System Prompt.
- Camera: Resolution and stabilization follow device capabilities.
- Permissions: Ensure Camera, Microphone, and Photos are granted in iOS Settings.
Troubleshooting
- No camera preview: Check camera permission in iOS Settings.
- No audio in video: Verify microphone permission and selected input.
- AI not responding: Confirm network, API URL/Key, and model; try again.
- Bluetooth mic missing: Toggle Bluetooth, reconnect the device, then reopen mic menu.
- Photos not saving: Allow Photos access and ensure free storage space.
Privacy
- On-device capture: Photos and videos are stored locally in your Photos library.
- AI requests: When using Smart mode, a captured frame is sent to your configured AI endpoint solely for generating a description.
- Audio notes: Saved locally; you choose where to share/export.
